Verix Health (formerly Greppo Technologies) is a Santa Clara, CA-based developer of a portfolio of steerable devices that enable minimally invasive delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic tools for solid-organ cancers. Led by CEO Sasha Schrode, the company is developing a suite of actively steerable surgical devices to diagnose and treat lesions in difficult-to-access anatomies. The company was founded by Professor Mark Yim, PhD and PCI Ventures at the University of Pennsylvania and was incubated at the Pennovation Center in Philadelphia. Verix closed an $8m Series A financing to fund ongoing R&D activities and to prepare its product line for commercialization. Ajax Health led the round and has also added multiple executives to Verix’s management team, including Duke Rohlen as Executive Chairman, Doug Koo as CFO and Joe Koblish as CTO. The financing includes participation from Aperture Venture Partners and Western Technology Investment.
