Overview
Verrix is developing the Verrix EVA™ Biological Indicator (BI) System to deliver rapid, accurate sterilization confirmation and help reduce hospital-acquired infections. The company’s foundational technology originated from planetary protection work at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and integrates optical physics, chemistry spectroscopy, and molecular biology. Founded as a standalone company in 2013, Verrix transitioned from research and development toward commercialization after a 2016 Series A. The Series B funding will allow Verrix to finalize development, pursue regulatory submission, and commercialize the EVA BI System. The company completed an initial close on an $8 million Series B, bringing total funds raised to $17.5 million. The first BI system based on Verrix’s technology was expected to be introduced in 2019.
