The platform supports cloud, on-premises, or blended deployments and is built on a Single-Pass Parallel Processing architecture with AI/ML-powered SSE and SD-WAN capabilities, multitenancy and sophisticated analytics. Versa reports thousands of customers globally, with hundreds of thousands of sites and millions of users using its solutions for mission-critical networks and security. The company is privately held and lists backers such as Sequoia Capital, Mayfield, Artis Ventures, Verizon Ventures, Comcast Ventures, BlackRock, Silicon Valley Bank, Liberty Global Ventures, Princeville Capital, RPS Ventures and Triangle Peak Partners. Versa says it will use new financing to expand go-to-market strategies and accelerate SASE innovations. The company is positioning itself for a planned IPO and is headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif. Versa Networks offers a fully integrated SASE solution delivered via an integrated software stack that is hardware-agnostic and software-only, deployable in the cloud, on-premises, or as a blended combination. The platform provides a single interface for policy configuration, unified security embedded throughout, and visibility and control via a single pane of glass; Gartner and EMA have recognized Versa for having broad SASE capabilities. Thousands of customers globally with hundreds of thousands of sites use Versa, including deployments for small to extremely large enterprises and service providers and the Versa Titan cloud service for Lean IT. The company reported a record year during the COVID-19-driven remote workforce shift: worldwide sales and channel partner registrations doubled, headcount grew by 25%, and it expanded to 150 service providers, including seven of the world’s top 10. Versa is privately held and has raised $196 million to date, backed by investors such as Sequoia Capital, Mayfield, Artis Ventures, Verizon Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Liberty Global Ventures, Princeville Capital, RPS Ventures, and Triangle Peak Partners. The company plans to use new funding to pursue new go-to-market strategies, launch sales and partner enablement initiatives, run global educational marketing campaigns, invest in SASE R&D, and expand into new markets to cement its leadership.
