Versago Vascular Access develops a “reverse needle” subcutaneous access port. The device provides a large-bore, reusable, power-injectable conduit directly into a patient’s bloodstream or other anatomical cavities that collect serous or ascitic fluid. In certain applications the technology could potentially replace current technologies like ports, PICC and CVC for a range of procedures. The company is a spinoff of Primo Medical Group and is led by CEO and Co-Founder Andrea Patisteas. Versago raised $1.65M in seed funding from Primo Medical Group’s network of individual and institutional investors. The company intends to use the funds to further develop its line of port technology, initiate regulatory review and conduct animal testing.
