Overview

Versive builds the Versive Security Engine (VSE), an AI-powered platform for mission-focused adversary detection that contextualizes behaviors within adversary campaign stages. The VSE is designed to cut through network noise and surface only critical threats, delivering investigator-ready ThreatCases™ rather than a high volume of disparate alerts. Versive emphasizes automating human expertise with AI and says the underlying platform is interoperable and extensible to additional use cases beyond cybersecurity. The company reports market traction and industry validation, including placement on CB Insights’ AI 100 list and winning Best of Interop for Emerging Vendor in Security. Versive has announced a strategic partnership with Cloudera to create an enterprise-scale automated adversary detection solution. The company recently raised an additional $12.7 million, bringing total funding to $54.7 million. Context Relevant develops a Behavioral Predictive Analytics (Big Data 2.0) software platform for financial services that anticipates changes in operations, customer behavior, product pricing, and potential attacker actions. The company positions the platform to be used throughout clients’ workforces, not just by data scientists, and says it represents a disruptive advance over existing analytics solutions. Since its founding in 2012, Context Relevant has built a client roster that includes Wall Street’s largest financial institutions and leading insurance providers. The company recently opened a New York office to be closer to its Wall Street clients and has entered strategic partnerships with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Financially, Context Relevant has closed multiple rounds in rapid succession and reports total funding to date of $42 million after a $21M Series B and the recent $13.5M Series B-1. Board and advisory additions tied to the partnerships include Bina Kalola and Rana Yared joining the board and Don Duet joining the advisory board. Context Relevant builds automated predictive analytics software it describes as the world’s fastest for Big Data 2.0 applications, focusing on mission‑critical problems in the financial sector. The company’s apps produce predictive models that forecast changes in operations, customers, pricing and IT behavior to deliver faster, easier, and more cost‑effective answers from large data sets. It has assembled an impressive client roster that includes Wall Street’s largest financial institutions and leading insurance providers. Context Relevant has partnered with Good Harbor Risk Management, led by Richard Clarke, to help enterprises protect data and prevent security breaches. Led by CEO Stephen Purpura, the company is positioning its product for additional adjacent markets beyond finance. The company has raised significant external capital to support growth and productization of data science for enterprise customers. Context Relevant provides predictive data analysis to businesses that lack extensive analytics teams. Its application uses real-time data from HDFS, SQL, web logs, CRM systems, market data and social media to generate analyses and projections on future business impact. The platform also incorporates "behavioral libraries" that analyze interactions for finance, web personalization and online travel—industries the company identifies as most interested in its offering. The company has a handful of potential users in proof-of-value or proof-of-concept but does not yet have a large number of announced customers deployed in production. Context Relevant plans to launch a new version and announce public availability later this year, and is emphasizing ease of use and performance to drive customer adoption. Financially, the company has raised a $7 million Series A on top of $2.8 million in prior seed funding. Context Relevant, based in Seattle, provides Big Data analytics tools. Its core product is Flexible Analytics and Statistics Technology™ (FAST), designed to empower enterprise analysts to weave together large and disparate data sources. The company said it will use the new funding to accelerate development of FAST. Context Relevant raised $1.3M in seed funding led by Madrona Venture Group with participation from Geoff Entress and members of the Swype founding team. In conjunction with the investment, Tim Porter, Madrona’s Managing Director, joined the company’s board. The company is led by CEO and Co‑Founder Stephen Purpura.
