Vesalius Therapeutics was unveiled by Flagship Pioneering as a company focused on redefining the understanding and treatment of the diseases responsible for ninety percent of human illness. The firm is developing a platform and an initial pipeline of new medicines. Flagship initially committed $75 million to support development of that platform and pipeline. The company is based in Cambridge, MA. Christopher Austin, M.D., the founding Director of NCATS at the NIH, will lead Vesalius as CEO. Dr. Austin joined Flagship in March 2021 as a CEO-Partner.
