Vesta Energy is a privately held E&P focused on development of light oil properties in the shallow Joffre Duvernay Shale, led by Founder and CEO Curtis Cook. The company has assembled a contiguous position of over 200,000 net acres in the play and currently has 23 wells on stream. Vesta is producing approximately 3,500 boe/d, of which roughly 80% is light oil. Management includes executives with experience from EOG Resources, Renaissance Energy, and Talisman Energy. Proceeds from the recent financing are intended to fund an accelerated development program across Vesta’s extensive land base. The company is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, and has added board representation tied to its new investors.
