Vesto is a treasury management startup that helps startups manage, protect and extend runway by moving idle cash into higher-yield, low-risk instruments. The firm is registered with the U.S. SEC as an investment advisor and says its interaction resembles a robo-advisor but is more tailored and high-touch. Portfolios typically include U.S. Treasuries, money market funds, corporate bonds and sometimes CDs, with a focus on safety, liquidity and yield; customers can withdraw funds at any time. Vesto works with a technology partner as an intermediary and uses BNY Mellon as custodian while providing reporting and control layers for customers. It has a couple of unnamed paying pilot customers under contract and is on track to reach $100 million in assets under management by year-end or early next year, with individual deposit sizes sometimes $10M–$20M.
