Additional services such as vaccines and prescriptions are provided at 25–40% lower cost than brick-and-mortar vets. The company triages appointments by phone to determine if an issue can be treated at home before dispatching a vet. Co-founder and COO Ali Shahid says 89 percent of issues related to vet visits can be treated at home, including skin, ear, eye and gastrointestinal problems. Vetted currently operates in West Los Angeles with response times under 90 minutes when a vet is available. The startup plans to expand throughout Los Angeles and Orange County and use new funding for broader West Coast expansion.
