Vettery
27 W 23rd St 2nd floor, New York, NY, 10010, United States
Overview
Vettery offers an alternative to the traditional recruiting process by pairing job-seekers with a “talent executive” who helps them create profiles and manage interview requests. The platform gives candidates a $1,000 signing bonus when they accept a job. From the employer side, Vettery lets companies browse candidates and request interviews without going through a recruiter. Vettery launched last year in New York and expanded rapidly from startups to established firms and large enterprises. There are currently 1,500 companies hiring through Vettery, including eBay, Amazon and JP Morgan. The company is focused on tech and finance today but plans to move into new industries and build integrations with existing HR tools. The Series A will also fund expansion into San Francisco and growth of the product team. Vettery operates a vetted job marketplace that connects employers with pre-screened candidates. The company officially launched after a beta period in which it worked with employers including Jet, Casper, Etsy, Blue Apron and Percolate. Vettery’s talent scouts use a proprietary scorecard and phone conversations to vet applicants and create full profiles for employers to browse. More than 80,000 people submitted applications and Vettery accepts less than 5% of applicants; the company pays candidates $2,000 when they accept a job. Founders Brett Adcock and Adam Goldstein came from the hedge fund world and say they built the service to bring transparency and speed to recruiting. Vettery will remain focused on the East Coast in the near future and features employer-facing tools like a weekly countdown clock and personalized perks.
