ViaBill is a Danish Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) provider that offers interest-free installment payments to shoppers. Its core product issues a virtual or physical card after an on-the-spot credit decision that can be pushed to ApplePay or GooglePay and used anywhere online or in-store through a solution developed with MasterCard. ViaBill has rolled out this BNPL product in Denmark, Spain, and the United States and notes that 80% of its consumers’ spending happens offline. The company tested shopping behavior of roughly 11,000 consumers over the last quarter and reported that shopping frequency tripled for users of its virtual or physical cards. Founded in 2014, ViaBill positions itself to bring BNPL to brick-and-mortar merchants and accelerate expansion with new capital. Its stated goal is to provide understandable, affordable, and fully transparent financing to consumers.
