Vicept Therapeutics is focused on developing a topically applied therapy for erythema (facial redness) of rosacea. Its lead investigational product, V-101, targets rosacea and the company also has a second product intended to treat various forms of bruising and purpura. The newly raised capital will be used to fund Phase I and II development of V-101 and the bruising product. Vicept secured $10M to complete a total $16M Series A financing. The round was led by Vivo Ventures, Sofinnova Ventures and Fidelity Biosciences. The company was founded in 2009 by Dr. Neal Walker, who serves as President and CEO, and Stephen Tullman is Executive Chairman.
