Vilynx develops technology for automated classification and tagging of audiovisual content, enabling five-second video previews for users and improved monetization for digital media through higher click-through and retention. The company says it has built a large labeled video database via its classification technology. Vilynx was founded by Juan Carlos Riveiro and Elisenda Bou-Balust and is based in Silicon Valley and Barcelona (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). At the time of the report it had 24 employees. The company plans to use the new funds to strengthen its international expansion and to hire additional staff, targeting 40 employees by year-end. The business operates in the internet/online media sector and sells solutions to media and content platforms.
