Viralgen is a joint venture between Columbus Venture Partners and U.S. AskBio Pharmaceuticals, specialized in developing gene therapies. The company operates a clinical-trials space in San Sebastián and inaugurated an 1,800 m² facility in the Miramón technology park after a €10 million investment. Columbus Venture Partners fully financed construction of a new production plant with an investment of between €15 and €20 million. Construction was scheduled to begin in April and is expected to complete within three years, with the new facilities intended to drive a notable increase in headcount. The company’s core activities combine genetic-engineering development and manufacturing capacity expansion in San Sebastián.
