VirdiCO2 develops technology to convert waste carbon dioxide into high-value chemical products. Its solid catalyst technology can be retrofitted into existing chemical processes to allow use of CO2 in place of petrochemical feedstocks. The company produces outputs including surfactants, plastics/polymer feedstocks and small molecules. VirdiCO2 is a spin-out from the University of Southampton led by Dr. Daniel Stewart and is based in London. It raised £3M in Seed funding and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate development and commercialisation of its carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technology.
