Virmedex Virtual Experiences builds accessible, visually engaging virtual simulators and serious‑game training for healthcare staff, with a flagship product, virCPB©, that trains cardiopulmonary bypass techniques via immersive simulations and questionnaires. The platform is designed to run on basic hardware (a computer with internet), lowering costs versus high‑fidelity physical simulators and broadening access for smaller hospitals and schools. virCPB© is sold to individual perfusionists, perfusion schools and hospitals, and Virmedex counts university customers in Spain, the U.S., the U.K. and Eastern Europe. The company originated as a research group at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and was constituted as a company in 2022 as a spin‑off of UPC, the Universitat de Barcelona and Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. The team is led by CEO Dani Tost and includes cofounders with backgrounds in engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, journalism and AI, with more than 20 years’ experience in serious games and gamification for health. Virmedex plans to continue product development and to launch a new game approximately every nine months using artificial intelligence.
