Virtualstock offers a cloud-based solution that unifies data across disparate parts of the supply chain for retailers and healthcare providers. Its customers include major UK retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Argos, John Lewis and Dixons Carphone, as well as NHS Trusts. The company delivers Edge4Health™ in partnership with NHS Shared Business Services to drive efficiency and operational productivity for healthcare providers and suppliers. Leadership includes CEO Andrew Mills and newly appointed chairman René Schuster. The business plans to use new funds to scale operations and prepare for international expansion. Financially, the company has raised primary capital totalling £7m to date and reported a post-money valuation of approximately £69.5m after the latest round. Reading-based Virtualstock focuses on retail and health, developing technologies to automate and optimise supply chain operations and leveraging machine learning to assess large data sets. Its main product is a supply chain management system called "The Edge" that connects retailers and suppliers. The company partnered with the UK's National Health Service late last year to help manage procurement processes and recently added UK retail chain John Lewis as a customer. Virtualstock had been largely bootstrapped until this point and had previously received some investment from UK firm Legendary Investments. Notion Capital cited the digitalisation of commerce and shortcomings in existing ERP software as the impetus for its investment, according to managing partner Stephen Chandler. The company announced a $6 million funding round from Notion Capital.
