Overview
Virya Energy is a Belgium-based renewables platform owned by Colruyt Group and Korys that works across the entire clean-power value chain, from generation and distribution to green hydrogen. The company currently manages about 0.7 GW of installed renewable capacity, roughly 10 % of which is located in Poland. Its near-term development pipeline includes the 135 MW Żabice solar project in Lower Silesia, slated to be online in H2 2027, and a series of smaller solar plants on low-value agricultural land. Virya is also progressing international projects such as the Saubens solar installation near Toulouse, France, and has expanded into decentralised PV through the acquisition of Sunopée. Looking ahead, management has set a goal of expanding the global portfolio to at least 4.3 GW by 2034. The firm’s integrated approach allows it to capture value from project development through long-term operation while supporting Europe’s energy-security objectives.
