Overview
Vita Mojo offers a full-suite platform that combines digital ordering, Point of Sale, delivery and order management, kitchen operations, and marketing & growth tools for restaurants and hospitality businesses. It sells to restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, bakeries and fast-casual eateries and counts customers such as Nando’s, GAIL’s Bakery, Le Pain Quotidien, LEON, JKS Group and Neat Burger. The platform enables self-service ordering from kiosks and customers' devices, integrates third-party delivery channels (Just Eat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats) and consolidates ordering into a single system. Vita Mojo reports operators see a 35% increase in average order value and up to a 40% reduction in labour costs; the company serves over 130 operators across five countries in the U.K. and Europe. It recently launched an integrated feature to display nutrition and allergen information pulled directly from recipe-management software. With US$30 million in new financing, the company plans to accelerate its product roadmap, upgrade data and insights features, grow client success, product and engineering teams, double headcount over the next year and expand into new markets. Vita Mojo builds digital ordering technology and data analytics for restaurants, enabling customers to design and personalise meals via in-restaurant iPads, Deliveroo and its website. Its analytics let customers adjust calorie intake, macronutrients and carbohydrates to cater to fitness-focused diners. After four years of testing and iterating with its own restaurants, the company says it is "coming out of stealth mode" to offer its technology to other businesses and has signed customers including Virgin Active, Chilango and Wokit. Vita Mojo raised £10m in a Series A led by Investec and previously raised more than £3.2m through crowdfunding last year at a valuation of almost £20m. The new funds will be used to further develop the product and to hire artificial intelligence engineering talent. Management says it plans to scale the technology globally and to help other restaurants address pressures such as rising food costs and business rates. Vita Mojo offers restaurant software that lets customers design their own meals through in-store iPads or the company’s app and website. Customers can enter height, weight, dietary requirements and fitness goals to receive customised nutrition advice. The company recently crowdfunded on Crowdcube, attracting retail investors alongside a strategic contribution from the Elior Group. The raise and Elior’s participation signal commercial interest from large catering operators. Management says the product taps into the rapid growth of the healthy food industry and millennial demand for personalisation. The article notes the UK eating-out market is worth more than £70 billion a year, a market Vita Mojo aims to serve.
