Junction (formerly Vital) provides a single API and embeddable widget that standardizes and integrates data from wearables and medical devices and facilitates lab testing. The platform connects to over 500 wearable and medical devices and reports over 2 million devices connected today. Junction says it is on track for about a million lab tests this year and enables companies to order tests across all 50 U.S. states. Results can be received from more than 10 labs via both in-person and at-home testing. The company has secured over 140 healthcare organization customers, including Found, Parsley Health, and Evidation. Born out of London and now headquartered in New York, Junction is led by founder and CEO Maitham Dib. Vital builds an API to break down data silos between wearables, lab kits and other health data sources, enabling digital health startups to collect and analyze combined signals. The platform is designed to let different devices and users 'talk to each other' so disparate metrics can be correlated. Vital's API explicitly extends beyond consumer wearables to include test-at-home lab kits, reflecting pandemic-driven growth in at-home testing. The company emphasizes interoperability so that signals from multiple sources can be combined to surface meaningful abnormalities. Financially, Vital has just closed a $2.9 million seed round. Named investors include Point Nine, 20VC, Amino Collective, Adventure Fund and Inflect Health, alongside several notable angel backers.
