VitalMedicals, based in San Francisco, develops smart glasses technologies and a smart software platform aimed at surgical teams and hospitals to improve operational efficiency and patient safety. Led by CEO Ash Eldritch, the company currently offers three mobile- and smart glasses-enabled products: VitalVideo, VitalCom, and VitalStream. VitalVideo streams live ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and endoscopy video to smart glasses and tablets during procedures, bringing data into a surgeon’s field of view. VitalCom enables clinicians to talk with other hospital staff via voice command and share point-of-view video, while VitalStream streams live vital signs and alarms to anesthesiologists or circulating nurses during conscious sedation. The company raised $925K in seed funding from angel investors and the Stanford-StartX Fund. Funds will be used to grow the technical team and expand pilot programs beyond its initial sites at El Camino Hospital and the Palo Alto Veterans Association Hospital.
