Viti-Tunnel has created a retractable tarpaulin solution that shields vines and other crops from adverse weather while reducing the need for chemical inputs. The covers, fabricated in Le Haillan near Bordeaux by the 12-person firm MO.DEL, were originally conceived for viticulture and have already been installed over 7 km of premium vineyards such as Petrus, Lafite-Rothschild and Hennessy. Encouraged by this initial traction, the company now plans to extend the technology to arboriculture, market gardening and berry production. Founder and president Patrick Delmarre positions the product as a way to help growers meet environmental regulations by cutting pesticide use. The firm will use new capital to accelerate commercial deployment and diversify into these adjacent markets. Leadership includes MO.DEL CEO Christophe Marange and deputy director Sébastien Labat.
