VitiBot

Chemin de Saint-Léonard, Reims, Grand Est, 51100, France

Overview

Vitibot develops Bakus, an electricity-powered straddle robot equipped with modular high-performance tools to work vine rows while protecting biodiversity and improving operator safety. Bakus supports modules such as confined spraying with recuperative panels and will, in the medium term, capture ultra-precise vine data to aid grower decision-making. The company positions Bakus as a planet-friendly alternative to conventional wine tractors, targeting a global wine-tractor market worth roughly €1.5 billion per year. Vitibot was founded in 2016 and is based in Reims; its team has grown to about 50 employees, including nearly 30 engineers. The startup demonstrated Bakus across Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Provence and the Loire Valley and counts winegrowers, cooperatives, Grand Champagne Houses and viticultural service providers among its historical partners. It plans to expand international deployment starting in 2022 and has raised additional funding to accelerate that rollout.
