Viva Air is a pioneer low-cost airline group based in Colombia and Peru that operates national and international flights to more than 21 destinations. In 2019 the airline expected to carry 7.5 million passengers. The group has a strong expansion plan supported by an order of 50 new Airbus A320 CEO and NEO aircraft. Irelandia Aviation, the developer that created Viva Air, will remain the majority shareholder. The company announced an equity capital injection of USD 50 million into its Procurement subsidiary to support pending aircraft deliveries and continued growth in Colombia, Peru and beyond. Viva Air’s core product is democratized low-cost air travel across the region, with growth driven by fleet expansion and rising passenger volumes.
