Overview
Vivun offers a purpose-built platform to capture and operationalize pre-sales knowledge, a category the company says is newly emergent. Founder Matt Darrow built the product from his pre-sales experience at Zuora to help pre-sales teams contribute more effectively to buying processes. The company reports strong growth: ARR grew more than 4x in the most recent fiscal year, customer count increased by over 160%, and it counts customers such as Snowflake, Genesys and UiPath. Vivun surpassed 140 employees (it had passed 100 earlier) and expects to reach about 200 by year-end; it is fully distributed with staff in 10 countries and has a people/HR team driving DEI work. Management says its near-term goal is to reach around $30 million in ARR over the next year. Vivun provides a software platform dedicated to PreSales (also called sales engineering or sales consulting) that sits at the intersection of product and sales, coordinating technical implementations and working side-by-side with customers. The solution captures customer feedback at the moment PreSales receives it, using AI to cluster, prioritize and tie it to opportunities and revenue. Vivun guides decisions about what features and new products to develop and when, with data to support each decision. The platform integrates with Jira and Salesforce. Customers include startups like Harness and Fivetran, growth companies such as Seismic and Okta, and global enterprises including Autodesk and Dell. Vivun raised $35M in a Series B led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Atlassian Ventures, Accel and Unusual Ventures. Vivun offers a dedicated pre-sales platform that captures the insights of pre-sales teams and turns them into data to inform the wider organization. The company was launched in 2018 by CEO Matt Darrow, who previously ran pre-sales at Zuora and saw the opportunity to productize that insight. Vivun says its product resonates particularly well with larger enterprise customers, and it counts Okta, Autodesk and Dell Secureworks among its customers. In its first year the startup grew annual recurring revenue sixfold (company did not disclose absolute ARR) and tripled headcount from 10 to 30 employees. Vivun plans to use new funding to expand the team to around 60 employees and to continue building product and company culture, with emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and flexible work policies. The company also noted smaller customers pulled back during COVID while larger enterprises increased adoption, reinforcing product-market fit at scale. Vivun provides a platform that captures and organizes pre-sales interactions via a mobile app, browser tools, and a reporting dashboard. Its product lets pre-sales teams log demos and proofs of concept and surfaces feature requests and customer insights for product, sales, and executives. The company positions itself as the missing management and analytics tool for pre-sales. Vivun was founded in 2018 and spent its first year building the product. It had been bootstrapped until the seed and today serves 20 customers, including SignalFx and Harness. CEO and founder Matt Darrow built the product based on his experience at Zuora.
