ViZn Energy Systems is an energy storage company based in Columbia Falls, Mont., founded in 2009. The company develops and deploys a zinc‑redox flow battery solution for utility, commercial and industrial, and microgrid applications worldwide. Its core product is a versatile zinc‑redox flow battery designed for large‑scale and distributed energy storage use cases. ViZn recently secured a $15M financing and has ended a staff furlough that lasted approximately ten weeks. John Lowell, who served as Chief Operations Officer for six years, has assumed the role of CEO as the company streamlines operations. Management said it is reducing the global commercial organization now, with plans likely to expand that organization again in 2019. ViZn Energy Systems is commercializing next-generation zinc-iron flow batteries for megawatt-scale commercial, industrial, microgrid and utility markets.
