VM6 Software builds VMex, an all-in-one IT infrastructure solution that leverages virtualization to manage, provision, consolidate and protect distributed servers and desktop environments. VMex Enterprise Edition, now generally available, leverages Microsoft Hyper-V and combines virtualization with shared storage, clustering, and management and monitoring capabilities. VM6 recently joined the Microsoft BizSpark One program. The company said the new funding will be used to expand its customer base and to fund future software development as well as marketing and sales efforts worldwide. VM6 is headquartered in Montreal with a primary business office in Toronto. As part of the fundraise, investors from RBC Venture Partners and Ignition Partners will take board seats, and industry veteran Stephen Pollack has also joined VM6's board.
