VoAPPs is an Atlanta, GA-based developer of voice applications founded in 2008 by President David King. Its flagship DirectDROP voicemail product allows businesses to leave voicemail messages on a consumer’s mobile phone without ringing the phone. The company closed $1.5M in Series B funding. Backers included Buckhead Investment Partners Early Stage Fund, Bert Ellis, Paul Iaffaldano, other Atlanta-based angel investors and two new strategic investors. In conjunction with the funding, Mark Buffington, co-founder of Buckhead Investment Partners, joined VoAPPs’ board of directors. VoAPPs intends to use the funds to accelerate customer acquisition and adoption of DirectDROP in the collections space while expanding into new markets.
