VoiceBase
2081 Center St, Berkeley, California, 94704, United States
Overview
VoiceBase offers a cloud service that lets users record voice conversations from iPhone or Android apps, automatically upload them, and receive machine and human transcriptions. Users can designate recipients to receive completed transcriptions and share recordings with collaborators who can comment at time-stamped markers. The platform supports full-text search across recordings and returns markers pointing to where a term was spoken. It targets presentations, meetings, lectures and conferences for later listening and collaboration. VoiceBase positions itself for lengthy conversations that competitors like Google Voice and Nuance do not handle well. The company is Novato, Calif.-based and was founded earlier this year. It recently closed a $700,000 first round of funding from two private European investors, the Band of Angels, and Bay Area private investors.
