Voicy provides tools for creating and sharing short, emotive audio snippets intended as reaction sounds and "audio memes," with a simple universal API to enable integrations. The platform launched in October 2020 and has grown to 1.1 million monthly active users (including usage via Viber). Users have created roughly 145,000 sound clips to date, adding about 10,000 new clips per month; an average Voicy user plays 20 clips and shares one per visit. After a partnership with Viber, users there have sent over 20 million audio messages that were played 100 million times in three months. Voicy targets gamers and younger generations (60% of users in the U.S.; 75%+ under 35) and plans to build a pipeline of third-party integrations across messaging, streaming and gaming. The team intends to develop Voicy into a marketplace for creators, monetizing via sub-licensing and premium creator features and has announced a €1.2M pre-seed to support growth and integrations.
