Voiijer is a social app that enables nature enthusiasts to create community, share adventures, and document discoveries using photos, videos, audio, text notes and 3D scans for AR viewing. Launched this summer into public beta by CEO Michael Barth and co-founders CPO Michelle Excell and CMO Greg McConnell, the New York and Hong Kong-based startup supports collaboration on “Voiijs,” expedition planning, and real-time or post-expedition data uploads. The app includes a searchable feed, multimedia storytelling tools, and AR Quick Look support for scans; the test version has been trialed by about 100 users, including mountaineer Kenton Cool. Voiijer has raised nearly $1 million in angel funding from friends and family to get the app off the ground. The company plans to officially launch its iOS app on September 30 and aims to scale to 10,000 users within three months. Voiijer intends to eventually monetize through a combination of advertising and a subscription model, though the public beta is currently ad-free.
