Overview
Voliro develops the Voliro T platform, an autonomous aerial inspection robot built on a patented tiltable-rotor design with interchangeable sensor payloads for contact-based inspections. The platform targets hard-to-reach infrastructure across energy, chemicals, and renewables, enabling 5x faster inspections of wind turbine lightning protection systems and cutting downtime and inspection costs by up to 50%. Voliro reports over 100 contact inspections per month and positions its technology to address aging infrastructure, corrosion-related failures, and workforce shortages. The company emphasizes scalable, data-driven inspection workflows that combine sensing with active intervention. New funding will accelerate a global rollout and the development of next-generation Voliro T features, including deeper cloud integration, AI-powered inspection, reporting and diagnostics, enhanced autonomy, and modular payloads. The firm uses these advances to move from semi-automated inspection toward full autonomy in industrial environments. Voliro builds aerial robots featuring a unique tiltable rotor system that enables contact-based inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) on surfaces at any angle. Its drones are designed to perform industrial inspection, maintenance, and repair work remotely, reducing the need for scaffolds, rope access, and large workforces. The company’s technology works in challenging conditions, including high winds and sloped surfaces, and is already used by customers such as Chevron, Holcim and Acuren. Headquartered in Zurich, Voliro launched its first product in November 2022. Management says recurring revenue from a subscription model supports continued R&D investment. The company plans to expand product capabilities, enter new markets, and broaden industry adoption globally.
