Voonik aggregates about 500,000 SKUs from multiple merchants and lets shoppers check out all items in a single transaction. It operates a lightweight marketplace model—Voonik does not carry inventory or handle deliveries; vendors fulfill orders while Voonik combines tracking information and provides customer support. The app uses a Tinder-style swipe interface and a personal styling platform with more than 10,000 rules and technology to detect and adapt to changing fashion trends. Launched in 2013, the app has been downloaded 1 million times since its launch last year and reports on average 2,500 purchases per day by 1,500 unique customers. Voonik takes roughly a 15% commission on sales. The company says the new capital will be used to improve its recommendation engine and further personalize product discovery.
