Voyage SMS is a Santa Monica–based startup that provides SMS marketing and messaging tools for e-commerce brands, with customers including Birthdate Co., Zitsticka and Negative Underwear. The company publicly launched in late 2019 and focuses on engaging online shoppers via automated and human-driven text workflows. Voyage recently acquired LiveRecover, an Austin-based SMS-focused cart‑recovery service that integrates with Shopify and ReCharge and uses customer service staff in the Philippines. Voyage plans to use the new funding to hire and expand beyond SMS into other messaging channels, and to develop capabilities that decide when to use automation, AI/chatbots or human agents. The LiveRecover co-founders, Cody Collier and Dennis Hegstad, have left the company following the acquisition.
