Voyager Digital is a cryptocurrency broker listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker VOYG. The company received a $75 million investment from trading firm Alameda Research that it said will be used for growth. As part of the transaction Voyager will issue roughly 7.7 million shares to Alameda, giving the firm a stake of more than 4%. Voyager and Alameda plan to collaborate on opportunities in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and crypto derivatives and to work with lawmakers on shaping regulation. The company’s shares jumped about 39% in Toronto on the announcement. The strategic partnership and capital infusion are positioned to support Voyager’s expansion into new crypto product areas.
