Overview
Wabi is building an integrated creation, discovery and hosting platform where non-technical consumers can instantly generate small, single-purpose applications by typing natural-language prompts. Users can like, comment on, remix and browse apps through an Explore page, and forthcoming personalized onboarding will automatically spin up starter apps for newcomers. The product removes the need for coding by auto-handling UI, icons, databases and model selection, while still allowing advanced users to tweak underlying prompts. Launched in closed beta last month, it is already generating buzz among founders, designers and AI enthusiasts, including shout-outs from Google DeepMind’s Logan Kilpatrick. Founder Eugenia Kuyda, who previously scaled AI companion app Replika to 35 million users, plans to use the new capital to expand Wabi’s product team and subsidize free usage while the company experiments with monetization. Kuyda has ruled out advertising, aiming instead to rely on future network effects and potential professional-grade tools for creators. The long-term vision is to democratize software creation and foster a vibrant marketplace of disposable, community-driven apps.
