Wake builds a collaborative designer feedback tool available on Mac, iOS and web. The product lets design teams instantly review works-in-progress, share thoughts, and avoid switching between workflow tools or in-person interruptions. Wake launched a private beta in February and is launching publicly today, having iterated on usage to speed onboarding and engagement. Since beta the team has been rapidly building and scaling the business to meet demand. The company raised a $750K round earlier this summer from First Round, Slow Ventures, Designer Fund and others. Wake is servicing about 900 companies, including Airbnb, Artsy and Medium, which have integrated the tool into their design processes. CEO and co-founder Chris Kalani, formerly a product designer at Facebook, emphasizes keeping the tool effortless so designers do not have to think about using it.
