Wakelet provides simple, intuitive tools for users to collect and organise links to articles, videos, images, documents and audio into maintainable collections called Wakes. Wakes can be created in minutes and set to public, private, or shared with others. The platform has been used by individual users, public organisations, sports teams and businesses. Wakelet was founded by Jamil Khalil, a former tech lead at Airbus, and is supported by high-profile backers and advisors, including Angry Birds publishers Chris Byatte and Joe Wee. The company recently closed a £1M investment round that the team says provides the foundation for the Wakelet platform launch. Wakelet positions itself as a human-centered way to organise the web where search engines and algorithms alone are insufficient.
