Walkbase
Tykistökatu 4 A, Turku, 20520, Finland
Overview
Walkbase has developed a platform to measure, understand and optimize in-store customer behaviour, tracking smartphone-enabled shoppers as they move between online and offline channels. It offers online/offline campaign analysis and forecasting tools aimed at CMOs digitizing retail marketing budgets. Current clients include specialty retail brands, fashion and apparel retailers, casinos and airports. Led by CEO and co-founder Tuomas Wuoti, the company will use new funds to strengthen its sales, marketing and customer-insight teams. Walkbase also plans expansion across EMEA and Russia. The company raised €3M in the announced Series A round. Walkbase provides retail analytics solutions that use a sensor to anonymously monitor consumer Wi‑Fi traffic, analyze it and deliver aggregate non‑personal data to retailers via an online dashboard. The company targets retailers in the fashion, travel and telecoms industries to help optimize sales conversions by showing the impact of marketing and operations on in‑store customers. Walkbase has also launched a beta service integrated with Google Analytics to measure click‑through for online campaigns and match that with foot traffic patterns at physical stores. The company is led by CEO Tuomas Wuoti and is an alumnus of Aalto University’s Startup Sauna accelerator program. Walkbase closed a seed round of funding; the article does not disclose the round size. Investors leading the round were Leonid Volkov, Leonid Gluzman and Jan Blomquist.
