Wallflower offers a suite of connected products and services focused on improving safety and control for everyday home appliances, with its first product targeting gas and electric stoves. Its flagship product, Wallflower Ember, connects to any gas or electric cooking appliance, gives it Internet connectivity, and links it to a homeowner’s mobile device. If a homeowner leaves the premises with the stove on, Ember automatically notifies the user and provides options to remotely shut it off via the Wallflower mobile application. The company announced a $1.5MM second seed round, bringing total funding to over $2MM. Wallflower will use the capital to grow its engineering team and expand trials with consumers and insurance providers in the United States. Founded by industry veterans and led by CEO Victor Jablokov, the company plans to launch its first products in late 2015 and will showcase Ember at the Internet of Things World Conference in May 2015.
