Wandera is a London- and San Francisco-based provider of a mobile gateway that secures enterprise mobile traffic and enforces data policy. The company uses a gateway architecture and an intelligence engine, MI:RIAM, which blends machine learning and data science to identify zero-day threats and surface analytic insights. In 2016 MI:RIAM scanned 26 billion mobile web requests, including 700,000 unique apps and over 10 million web domains. Wandera works with more than 500 global enterprises and has alliances with Deutsche Telekom, BT, Orange, Verizon and VMware, with major deployments in healthcare, finance, technology and professional services. The company opened offices in Athens, Brno and Tel Aviv in 2016 and intends to use the funds to expand its global presence and further develop its gateway technologies. Led by co-founder and president Roy Tuvey, Wandera completed a $27.5m Series C equity and venture debt financing and has raised $50m in total to date. Wandera provides mobile security services, data optimization and real-time intelligence that give enterprises granular control and visibility over their mobile data usage. Wandera is focused on selling to enterprises and is also talking to carriers that may resell the service as part of their enterprise offerings.
