ZAC PORTE DE BEAUNE RUE BUFFON AVENUE CHARLES DE GAULLE, BEAUNE, Bourgogne, 21200, France

Overview

Wasoria develops AI-enabled detection portals that identify dangerous objects such as batteries, gas canisters and nitrous oxide bottles on waste-sorting conveyor belts before they can ignite. In pilot deployments, the system achieves a 99 % detection rate for gas and nitrous oxide bottles and 50–70 % for batteries, performance the team is working to improve. Beyond fire prevention, the company is experimenting with modules that detect bio-waste bags and adjust baler pressure to cut down on jams, broadening its product suite for recycling operators. Half of the staff are PhDs or doctoral candidates, underscoring a strong R&D culture, yet a portion of the technology is deemed market-ready and will now be commercialized nationally. Current sales are projected at €250 k for the year, with a goal to double to roughly €500 k next year and to reach €1.5 million within two years. Early customers include sorting centers in Torcy (Saône-et-Loire) and Valoseine (Yvelines), and discussions are underway with additional municipalities.
