Water Health International
9601 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA, 92618, United States
Overview
WaterHealth International provides decentralized, low-cost, easy-to-maintain water purification facilities (WaterHealth Centers or WHCs) that supply communities with affordable, purified drinking water under the "Dr. Water" brand. When WHCs are purchased by governments, municipalities, corporations, communities or NGOs, ownership is awarded to the local community and WHI enters into long-term concessions to operate and maintain the WHC. WHI has deployed over 500 WHCs in India and sub-Saharan Africa, providing clean drinking water access to over 5 million underserved people. The company sets local prices in consultation with communities to cover embedded services (labor, laboratory tests, pumping, electricity, equipment, and chemicals) while remaining affordable and commercially viable. WHI also invests in health and hygiene education programs to combat waterborne diseases in the communities it serves. The company aims to achieve significant scale in Africa, India and other emerging markets by leveraging its disciplined operations and maintenance infrastructure.
