WaterView has developed a Big Data platform that leverages images from digital imaging devices (surveillance and smartphone cameras, dedicated webcams) to provide real-time information on rainfall spatial and temporal patterns. Its data and analytics target applications in civil protection, precision farming, transport safety and outdoor sports. The company was co-founded in 2015 by Paola Allamano, Paolo Cavagnero and Alberto Croci and is currently accelerated within I3P, the incubator of Politecnico di Torino. WaterView raised €475K in seed funding from the angel network Club degli Investitori. The company will use the funds to expand marketing efforts and operations.
