WaveBreak Media produces still imagery, video footage, 3D animations and After Effects files and maintains a catalogue of over 100,000 stock media files. Its files are sold through its website and an international distribution network of 60 agents, including Getty Images and Corbis Motion. Clients include Dell, RTE, Fox Sports and MTV. The company employs 20 people at the Rubicon Centre on the Cork Institute of Technology campus. It plans to use the €400k funding to expand its catalogue of royalty-free super slow motion content and to hire additional staff. The round was announced in March 2012. Wavebreak produces broadcast-quality HD royalty-free stock video and animation, selling downloadable media through a global distribution network. Its catalogue includes over 13,000 HD stock videos and 25,000 animations and photographs. The company supplies major distributors such as Getty Images and Corbis Motion and counts FoxSports, Channel 4, MTV, the ITN group, Walkers Crisps and Aldi among customers. Founded in 2006 and based in Cork, Wavebreak was a former InterTradeIreland Seedcorn national finalist. The startup recently raised external capital to support growth and international expansion and continues to monetize its existing catalogue via global distribution partners.
