Wavii is developing a proprietary natural language processing system that indexes web prose and extracts structured, useful information for presentation in a Facebook-like feed. The product automatically creates real-time social content from news, blogs, and tweets across the web. The team recently grew to about five employees working on core NLP accuracy and performance. Wavii is still in stealth/alpha and plans to onboard a small number of testers in the coming months, with a possible public appearance at TechCrunch Disrupt. The company has raised $2 million to date from angel investors and is actively hiring. Yahoo and other suitors reportedly made acquisition offers (Yahoo offered up to $10 million), which the founder declined while the product is still maturing.
