We4Sea has developed a cloud platform that collects extensive operational ship data (position, speed, heading, engine data) and enriches it with external sources such as weather, wave heights, currents and wind. Its proprietary algorithms and energy models convert this data into actionable management information to optimize ship use and configuration. The solution requires no additional hardware on board and has been shown in pilot projects to cut fuel costs by up to 20%. The company intends to accelerate growth in the maritime transport sector and scale its technology to improve sustainability. We4Sea aims to save 1 million tons of CO2 in the next three years. The company was founded in March 2016 and is part of the YES!Delft incubator in Delft, the Netherlands; it recently received a strategic investment to support expansion.
