Overview
WebDoctor is a health technology company and telehealth platform that enables engagement and collaboration between healthcare practitioners and their patients, allowing doctors to conduct day-to-day operations virtually and to automate booking and payment processes. Founded in 2013 by brothers Oisin and Howard Kim and co-founder Martin Commins and based in Dublin, Ireland, the company has processed over three million bookings and registered almost ten percent of the Irish population as patients on its platform. In response to COVID-19 the company reports GP appointments rose year-on-year from 68,000 in 2020 to 125,000 in the current year. Led by newly appointed CEO David Crimmins, WebDoctor intends to use new funding to accelerate international growth and expansion. The company plans to scale its sales, marketing, product and technology teams to support that growth. In September 2021 WebDoctor raised $3.54M from VentureWave Capital at a $56.6M valuation, with VentureWave Chairman Alan Foy joining the board.
