Overview
Weet is a browser-extension asynchronous video startup spun out from Speach that enables instant recording, screen sharing, virtual backgrounds, video filters, emoji reactions, commenting, and auto transcription. The product is free to use via a browser extension and has integrations with Slack and Microsoft Teams scheduled to go live next month. A premium paid version is in development to help organize discussions and aggregate auto-transcriptions for use cases like sales notes. Weet was born as an internal Speach project and launched this week with a team of about 10 employees, leveraging earlier funding and resources from Speach. The company points to Speach's data management and privacy practices developed for clients such as Airbus and Colgate-Palmolive; units inside Colgate-Palmolive are already using Weet. Weet enters a crowded market that includes incumbents like Loom and newer entrants such as SuperNormal.
