Wego operates a travel metasearch across about 600 airline carriers and 400,000 hotels and has added Travelmob’s ~400,000 home‑rental listings to its search. The site charges business clients based on referrals and successful transactions, while advertising currently contributes about a third of revenue. The company mines user search and booking data to create audience segments for corporate clients and to augment display ads and its ad‑bidding exchange. Wego plans to use new funding to hire roughly 20 marketing staff, a couple of data scientists, and about 12 country development managers, and to push expansion in the Middle East. The company was founded by Ross Veitch and Craig Hewett, is eight years old, has about 100 staff globally (about 50 in Singapore), and is headquartered in Singapore with offices in Australia, Indonesia, India and Dubai.
